Politely worded note, but that's the seller's way of saying you are a bit too astute, and will stand in the way of his liquidation of the cards. He has no interest in proper disclosure of the altered cards within the group.
He's actually doing you a favor by asking you to refrain from participating, so no loss there. Your posting here is an act of goodwill to other prospective bidders who would not otherwise be aware. Nice job!
