2. Kellogg's 3D cards can be graded high, but then start cracking inside the slabs, making a mockery of the number grade. With the coins, is there a similar thing going on with them developing rust over time?

Re: #1... Without question there are. I've been handling and dealing with them or years. Those are the ones that get graded NM/MT or better.
Re: #2... Not a chance. That coin got scuffed by banging around inside a bag with other coins... PRIOR to slabbing.
