'91 was one of the best ever for sure, the only one negative I have with that is it was played in a Dome.

Trivia - 40 times has a WS gone 7 games.

So I think there are 40 to choose from to determine the best. 'Cuz to be the best it has to go 7. And winning in the bottom of the 9th or extra would probably also be a requirement of best ever so that would whittle those 40 down to a handful.

1924, 1960, 1991, 1997 and 2001 all ended with a walk off hit in game 7. 1960 was the only one with a walk off home run.

1960 had the best game 7 of the 5 with a back and forth 10-9 win for the Pirates. For the overall World Series it would have to be 2001. In game 4 the Yankees scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th to tie and won in extras. In game 5 the Yankees again scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th to tie and won in extras. In game 7 the Dbacks scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th off Mariano Rivera to win the World Series.

I'll see that pitching heavy suggestion and raise you to the 2001 World Series: Clemens, Big Unit, Schilling and Rivera. No room for Jeter, Mussina, etc.

2004 Red Sox have a pretty good foursome all by themselves in Big Papi, Schilling, Pedro and Manny. Although at least one wouldn't make the cut for this exercise because of that guy named Albert... Cardinals also had Rolen, Larry Walker and Yadi on that team.

Moe started us out with some good ones. The 1926 and 1951 series were loaded with big WAR players. The 1929 series is a great suggestion, as are the 1909, 1915, 1937, 1975, and 1996 series. In my opinion, if the 1928 Athletics had made it to the series, they and the 28 Cards would be the best, hands down: Cobb, Speaker, Eddie Collins, Alexander, Grove, Simmons, etc.
