Why? From what I've read there are some buyers who prefer ungraded cards and they can still sell for what a graded card would sell for. You guys are so paranoid. Believe it or not, not everyone who comes through this forum is a scam artist. My cards are authentic. They were given to me by my grandfather.

This seems like too much of a coincidence. Did these cards from from grandpa Mize?

Yea I did. Dean's cards wrote an article about it. Are you all affiliated with PSA or something. You guys are intense. Just trying to learn about baseball card values and how to sell. You won't discourage me. Someone wants my collection. Move along if you're not interested.

Nobody pays graded prices for raw cards. Plus cards usually sell for less if not sold on eBay. ebay charges 13-15% to sell on there so a seller can make more cash while selling at a cheaper price. Also i don't collect Mantle so like I posted it was a guess.

Post some pics with prices in the BST section. If priced too low they sell within minutes. If priced properly they sell within hours. If priced to high they can be listed for years with no buyers.

Then you should say that. And it helps to walk into a room and get the lay of the land before you do anything. Just like walking into a nightclub, Get a sense of where you're at and see how what "you" do and what "they" do is different or similar, then find common ground with people.

I'm sure your grandfather would be shaking his head at your bull in the China shop approach.

You might be a nice guy and a great addition to this forum but your everything is a nail approach doesn't sell well here.

A bit of humility and respect goes a long way.

Isn't this one of the more commonly graded Mantles? Maybe not that many ungraded examples out there for sale I would guess.

Most would ask why not get it graded first?

Although I may be wrong, and am answering without first checking a pop report, I wouldn’t think it is anywhere near the most commonly graded Mantles. It is actually a short printed card and a rarer Mantle.

Getting the card graded in today’s environment could take 6 months. If he seriously wants to sell his collection and expose it to the most bidders, he should list it on a certain auction website. That way he doesn’t have to worry about setting a price. The free market will set it for him.

Alternatively, he could take pictures and post the cards on this site’s BST section. You can tell he doesn’t have much experience. This is why he can’t sell the card. He doesn’t know how to price it, and wouldn’t even know a good offer for it. He won’t accept anything less than amount no reasonable person on this site will pay. Waste of time.

This card would not take months to grade. It would fall under express service at PSA which is currently about 2 or 3 weeks.

Good luck with the sale.

Default Mantle

Seriously...there are a ton of buyers here(me included) but you will find that we always post prices. We get that you are new here and learning the process which is fine; we are happy to have another collector. Bottom line; just put your asking price out there and you may be surprised on the responses you get:

Also; What else is in the collection?

Thanks!

Why hasn’t this post been moved to BST yet?

Besides the fact that it is extremely entertaining. I think we should give the original poster a chance, and he has been respectful. Although I laughed at the 4-5 grade and no price. Chalk it up to a Learning curve. Also I agree post a price next time, but I don’t feel that’s a requirement. Especially if an item is rare. This 53 mantle is not. VERY hard to sell Raw online especially not from a established member with a history. GLWTS

Go away man. Your Gpa who owned that card would be ashamed of your behavior.

At least you didn't find them in the attic while you were doing renovations to a house. The last guy (from Omaha, NE) that said that did 2 years for mail fraud and counterfeiting. I think he's out now.
