Circa late 1940's Ewell Blackwell personal model Goldsmith glove
I'm happy to have added this circa 1948 Ewell Blackwell Goldsmith glove.
This was Goldsmith's top of the line model during this era. Blackwell aka "The Whip" came the closest to duplicating Johnny Vander Meer's "Vander Meeracle" of hurling two back to back no-hitters on June 22, 1947. He lost his 2nd consecutive no-hitter with 1 out in the 9th inning while teammate Vandy watched from the top step of the Reds dugout. Alas, it wasn't to be, but Blackwell had an amazing 1947 season, winning 16 consecutive games without a loss... Last edited by Scott Garner; 02-04-2021 at 06:19 AM.
