It's really difficult for me to realize that the last game at Memorial Stadium was 29 years ago today.

My good friend (RIP) worked for a radio station and had Press Credentials, so he had a professional photographer accompany him that beautiful day to capture some wonderful photos (here are just a handful):

Fittingly, Brooks and John Unitas threw out the first pitch (using their respective balls) and if you refer to post 2147 where I showed a Panoramic Photo of all the players who came out onto the field afterwards, here is a view of what that looked like from above:

And finally a photo of me (in the middle) and a couple of my good friends after it was all over (taken by an Usher):

Default 1966 Orioles

This will be my last post for a few days, as I'm packing up the cars for the long trip to our winter home in Florida. We head out tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to the drive, but I don't miss the snow all winter.

Since the theme the last couple days has been the 1966 World Series team, here are a couple more items from that year.

Day 282 (October 8, 2020 – 282)

I really like this advertising piece today that as put out after the 1966 World Series win. It’s a plastic National Bohemian Beer advertising sign with an easel back for display purposes. I posted a similar advertising sign from Clint’s (ksfarmboy) collection (post #377), but as you can see this example has the 1966 World Series crown along with the kingly robe.

I think this advertising poster is from the '66 Series, but if not it's '70...

Love all the 1966 World Series Items. It reminded me of a related item I have. It is The Sun Magazine insert from April 9, 1967 showing what looks like Brooks in the famous shot of him leaping in the air, but shot from the upper deck from Memorial Stadium.
