RIP HOF Lou Brock
Lou Brock was the epitome of the rare gift of combined Power and Speed, becoming the 1st ever to steal 50 bases and hit 20 HR's in the same season. He became only the 14th member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club in 1979 and retired on top of his game, hitting over .300 in his final year.
He was the fuse that ignited the uber-successful St. Louis Cardinals teams of the mid-late 1960's. His post season batting average was the thing of legends. In 1990 I instantly liked the beauty of this Upper Deck card featuring HOFers Brock and Rickey Henderson. On or around 1992 I had a chance to get both of them to sign this card at an autograph signing in So Cal. Also, here is a neat scored program to Lou Brock's historic 3,000th hit game in 1979. RIP Mr. Brock. Sorry to see the passing of such a class act...
