That seems like an inordinate amount of football pennants. I know nothing about football pennants....would other early teams (e.g. Bears, Packers, etc.) have about the same number?

I would say the above pennants probably equal about half of the different pre—1970 eagles pennants. When I get time, I’ll post the ones in my collection, although I don’t have photos of them as a group, just individual photos. As to other teams, I think Rob and Mark would likely know better than me since they collect the other teams. I would speculate they probably have more than most if not all teams.

I'd say most early teams have 50 or so pre-1970 pennants. I know the Packers, Cardinals, Rams and Giants do.

Ha! You are less cheap than me (on this one), as I was an underbidder.

I was hoping that you managed to get this one from a few weeks ago. I got distracted and forgot to bid. Did you get it?

Yes, I did. The polychromatic versions are not too bad but the monochrome versions of the generic stadium are pretty uninspiring. One odd thing about my recent pickup is that it’s an inch longer than my other “Polo Grounds” pennants.

Oops, my bad. I did not get that one. I think I was #3 bidder, which always makes me feel better than losing to “that one guy.” I earlier lost the same pennant, haggling with the seller over five stupid bucks.

I did pick up a different polychrome Polo Grounds a while back.

Default Giants banner

This large pennantish banner just arrived in the mail. 28 x 34 inches. It smells old, but I can't tell how old exactly. The straps have velcro, which was apparently invented in 1952, but I'm not sure when it went into widespread use.

The baseball was sewn and then applied to the felt banner with some type of glue. Letters glued onto the baseball, which is otherwise sewn. It was not made to be outside, at least for very long. It may be an older fan piece. If it is, it is done very well. I was also thinking that it might have been something used inside a store, given its size.

Curious to hear what others think.
