Default PEP cereal

Kellogg's PEP Cereal Babe Ruth Toy Ring - c1949-51

The plastic Babe Ruth toy ring was one of a 16 Ring set, featuring sports, aviation and Wild West themes.

The one size fits all, premium Ring was inserted into boxes of Kellogg's PEP Cereal, and came in 6 different colors; Red, Blue, Green, Pink, Gold, Silver.

Finding the cereal box intact for a fair price was a challenge - many are asking way too much IMO.

On the rings - it would be my anecdotal opinion that the "pink" was the toughest since I'm sure most boys tossed it when finding it in the box?

Besides the 6 basic ring colors, there's variations in color to the Ruth inset and also some variation to the plastic - besides the deep red e.g., there's also one that looks more like a red cough drop.

Cereal box:

Some of the rings are the same due to the fact that sometimes the ring will look different in the pic on eBay.

I'm sure it takes a bit of insanity to chase variations to these rings?

The ring measures about 9/16" in diameter, with 1/8" - wide shanks and a 5/8" square display table, with a 1/2" diameter cello inlay picturing Babe Ruth.

In your search for the box, did you ever see one of my visor complete boxes?

Fred, those Alpha-Bits boxes still have my head spinning.

I'm going to stretch it a bit here with a Kellogg's Danish box with some great card graphics.

Thanks, that's what I figured but worth asking. I'm thrilled to have the complete back, God bless the kid who cut that out instead of the visor. Heck, I've only seen a couple of the visors over the years. I guess a few of the ring boxes are around since you waited for a good one, but the box and rings together are phenomenal!
