You were thinking like I was. My thoughts were not the boxer or baseball player though. It was Kenneth 'Tug' Wilson who competed in discus at the 1920 Olympics and was president of the U.S. Olympic Committee from 1953-1965. He succeeded Avery Brundage in that role.
