Thanks for the reply. I scanned these with a double sided foam board as a backer. With the glare black or white really didn't matter. I have not tried editing post scan for fear that I could alter the card's appearance.

Bummer. Perhaps a different scanner would handle the glare differently, but it seems to me that there's going to be a reflection off of the interior plastic no matter what. I feel your pain... I've invested a ridiculous amount of time attempting to get the perfect scans of my collection.
I do think you will be able to avoid the glare by using your smartphone as a scanner. It's worth a shot. I believe Apple has a built-in scanner function in the Notes app. There are also apps called Adobe Scan and Office Lens that would do the trick. Try it - I promise it looks like a scan and not a photograph. |
