I did kind of what you are doing, but I picked 1955, 1965, 1975. So, I would recommend the 1965 set. It is easy to put together and not expensive. Plus you get some great Hof RCs, Morgan, Carlton, Hunter and Perez. It also has the best photography. I love the cards of Koufax, Aaron, Mays, Mantle, Yaz, etc.
