I won a couple of lots. Got one for an entirely reasonable price and the other for at least twice what I expected I'd have to pay for it. I thought for sure I was the only Whitey Glazner collector.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I placed an early bid but a week ago last night we were hit by a big storm with straight line winds. I lost 13 70 feet plus trees in five seconds in my front yard and then have had to take down five more with heavy damage. We didn't get power back until Wednesday night, my mind has just been other places so I didn't bid anymore. But grateful the house survived and no one was hurt.

Great pick up Jeff- what happened to your old 1914 Jax?
I thought prices were strong but the W600 Cobb went very cheap. I landed a few white whales and am all around super-psyched about last night. |

My small pickups:
Have been wondering for a while if any Type 1 photos even existed of Faust. Have been looking since I got back into collecting 7 or 8 years ago and haven't seen one come up unless I missed it. So I am very happy to have landed one at what I feel was a very reasonable price. The fact that it is a Paul Thompson is just icing on the cake. ![]() With my turn towards vintage film posters and collectibles, these next two are right up my alley. This one was originally titled "Abbott and Costello Meet The Killers". As A&C movies go, it is somewhat forgettable in the labyrinth of their films. What ended up making the title rather collectible, however, was that five days before shooting on the film began, they were able to sign someone new to play the role of the lead villain, and his star power at the time was so great that they put his name in the title of the film. It became "Abbott and Costello Meet The Killer Boris Karloff. The part was originally written for a woman. Paper from this title is collectible mostly due to Karloff's work in the film. The fact that it is Bud Abbott's personal script for the film is amazing. ![]() This was my favorite get from the auction though. Bud Abbott's personal script from the movie that basically launched the Abbott and Costello franchise. It was their second film but the one that made them stars. There might only be two other A&C titles that compare in terms of collectability. Just an amazing piece. ![]() |

I think that Tango Eggs was once Jerry’s? And are you starting after some Ruth cards now? Really nice group there, my friend. Your Cobb and Wagner collection is “wow.”

Unbelievable Ryan. And just to throw it out there...if you're looking to adopt...consider a middle aged man in his 40's with limited upside at this point..I could be had. Christmas could certainly be mighty special.

I flipped my original Jackson’s to move up on some cards. Now I wanted to get 1 back and this 1914 CJ Jackson 2MK has a nice eye appeal and a good price. Now I have 4 cards to my collection and slowly and strategically growing it Many great items for auction And many great collectors and winners Jeff |

Jeff, that is a great collection of OJ HOFers. Are you going for the full run? Jay pointed out the 1890 Wright, nice bonus. I also like the clean looking Ewing from 1888. I took interest in the 1888 example of Mack, you just don't see those very often but I can't afford to start branching out to non-Detroits.
I was happy to add to the Tomlinson collection . . . Shindle in street clothes.

$300k is very cheap? Thought it went for what it was expected to go for.

Thanks Gary.
Jeff, yes I thought it went cheap (maybe I could have left out the “very”). I would have put the over/under at $375k, and I would have bet the over (and lost). I guess on that one, only one whale needed it; or I am just off. Last edited by Rhotchkiss; 04-25-2020 at 07:12 PM. |

Congrats on the Wagner. I missed that one, might have bid you up if I had seen it.
Ended up going higher for this than I planned but wanted a nice Cy young card.
