Far and away the best post in this thread.

Especially the guy who thinks we should beat this virus like we beat “the Japs” and anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to sacrifice 1-2% of our population because they’re “playing in overtime”. Such people lack any semblance of empathy or humanity.

We've had our disagreements in the past, but I am 100% on board with your thoughts here Geordie.

"Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall -- you need me on that wall.

We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand the post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!"

I liked Five Easy Pieces and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest better.

The T206's I have on my ebay watchlist tonight are already at levels that are more than I'm willing to bid. Tangible assets, I guess.

Tomorrow could be the largest loss in history also. No way to predict what will happen but one thing I have observed is that in times of high volatility you don't want to try and be a hero. When thinking of jumping in it often pays to forego 10% of upside to avoid 30% on the downside. I'd wait until vol dampens and the crisis abates before putting new money to work. With all the talk of getting back to normal in 2.5 weeks I would think if that can't be met the markets will suffer. Just my opinion.

You watch too many movies. What will you say when it is your mother or grandmother who is dying alone in a hospital room? What movie will you quote then?

Ted--Don't minimize the number. Latest estimates say ending social distancing early could add 600,000 deaths to the US total.

Didn't they have Hillary as a shoo-in in 2016?
