Hey Mike...
Maybe you'll like this one better. (see pic below). This the Cubs version (far right). As far as I know, the Cubs and Cardinals were the only two teams that ever did these.

Bignoff...
That's a nice figural piece (and pretty rare). I believe it was made in the 1920s or so, and served as either a Paperweight or perhaps just a souvenir Statue. I have seen the Cubs version made as an ashtray as well.

Hope this helps,
Mark

That’s much better Mark. I could live with that one!

Thanks Mark! I was told in St. Louis that it was a reward for newsstands or paper boys for sales. I was guessing it was from the late 30's or early 40's Very cool if it's older.

Mark -
I enjoy seeing the photos when you post items in your collection.
Always great stuff - outstanding condition (right up my alley) and excellently displayed.

I've always appreciated your impeccable taste and great eye for quality. If you're ever up in the Pacific NW (post Coronavirus of course) let me know... would love to grab a drink and give you a tour in-person!

that's interesting. MEARS had a Crosetti bat that was 33 1/2" and 35.6 oz. Is yours close to that?

Yes it’s exactly 33.5 in long. Not sure how much it weighs. Pretty heavy bat though.

Amazing stuff posted this month. Time to bring this thread back to earth. I have been looking for this "rare" two sided version of the 1971 Willie Stargell Matel Instant Replay disc. I'm likely the only one who has been searching for it. For some unfathomable reason Vic Davalillo was not a favored subject of baseball photographers...go figure! Thankfully he wandered in front of Malcolm Emmons camera during the 1971 season at least once.
