Yes the set is up well into 130,000. Looks like I’ll be missing out on my individual cards I bid on. Set bidding is very very strong.

Default The set wins.

175,100.28 for the entire set. I’d think most individuals would enjoy the history and building the set.

Default T206 set

The individual cards added together were far less than the full set price. Many of the individual cards were going cheap. Looks like people gave up bidding on the separate cards. I tried but it was really tedious trying to bid up all those commons!

Well, you're also talking about the difference between the "collector crowd" and the "investor crowd"; the collector would likely be bidding on the individuals because they already have hundreds of these and would only need to fill their holes. While the Investor class would be buying the whole group to hold and resell at a later date.

Touché. I guess that’s definitely another way to think of it that I didn’t consider.

Historically collectors have bought sets and lots to upgrade their own holdings. Today it might just be all about the break and the profit. Since abandoning the T205 set I am back to types and cards I like. (preferably with some borders left on the card)

I was looking at the Memory Lane set for that exact reason. Upgrade my set and sell off the rest. I was the underbidder on it and still kicking myself a bit for not going higher although you never know what the final hammer price would have been.
