One more random Cal item this evening. My wife used to work for an electrical engineering firm. Cal became the spokesman for one of the industry catalogs they received. She surprised me with this Cal Ripken safety poster.

Day 21 (January 21, 2020 – 021)
I don’t really have anything good to post today to pay tribute to #21 on Day 21. So, I’ll post a 1974 All-Star Game program; it’s the best I’ve got on hand with the two kinda pictured (I’m sure others have something more suited to salute Clemente (I like glove boxes…”nudge nudge”). Also, I’ll picture a small magazine/booklet called, “The All Star Legend” with them both pictured on the cover. 1974 All Star Program Day 21 a 1.jpg 1977 The All Star Legend Day 21 b.jpg |

Posted for Clint (ksfarmboy) This is a 60's in-store display for National Beer. The sign has a plastic front attached to a cardboard easel back.

I thought I would post some Rawlings Premiums. I believe these two colored versions where in the glove box if you bought a new glove. One per box. The day time one with the blue sky is much more common in my collecting experience .

I think they came in glove boxes as well, but there must have been another avenue to get these color Rawlings premium photos. While they may not be common I do see them often enough (at least the day version) to conclude it couldn't be just in glove boxes. They are GREAT pictures though...

I don't have much in my collection that directly relates to Roberto Clemente, but I did find a couple of spring training programs you might enjoy. Teams often play games at the end of spring training closer to where they open their season. The Orioles have played in Norfolk in recent years. Here are a couple of late spring training programs. 1955 Game in Baltimore 1955 Spring Training (Baltimore).jpg 1962 Game in Portsmouth, VA. vs the Mets. The selection of Orioles players on the cover oddly didn't include Brooks Robinson, but does have Clemente. 1962 Spring Training (Portsmouth).jpg |

I think this type of Premium was given to Sporting Goods stores and displayed. The one of Brooks standing (autographed) is the only one I have ever seen of that Premium.

Like I've told you in the past that's the only one I've ever seen as well of the example which is autographed. Just notice all of the Brooks signatures in the white box of the photo are all the same "except" for the standing w/hand in the glove premium. Also, the box is a lot higher than the others as well. Maybe that was made for something special (like Carl's birthday ![]() |
