yeah takes a lot of time hitting click........ i think everyone in the hobby 'wastes' time on a lot of other things and waste a lot more time than clicking a few bids that dont win.

Someone would really have to place a premium on not having to spend the time putting a set together to pay more for a set than people are willing to pay for each card individually. I think I remember seeing this happen once with an 86 fleer basketball set. I could be wrong though.

They did the same thing in their last auction and the set won.

Interesting...didn’t realize they had sold a T206 set so recently.

What I meant was doing the research to determine a proper bid for a set of 500+ cards if I don’t have a realistic chance of winning it.

It will be interesting to see which wins this time. The set won last time by a wide margin but I'm not so sure this time. Memory Lane had a near set sell last night so it's possible the individual cards win this time since the two are so close together. The past few sets (or near sets) have sold for pretty strong prices.

I looked very closely at the Memory Lane set. Any impressions about the price it sold at?

I don't follow T206 that closely...but seems like the final price was STRONG and T206 seems more popular than ever at the moment.

People are still paying stupid money for "condition rarity opinions."

I think it sold for full retail value, or very close to it. The Mile High set in the fall of last year did the same if not more than value but the near set Memory Lane did in August didn't come close. It's been interesting to watch how they go!

The most recent Memory Lane set had some rarer front/back combos which was cool. But yeah it did go pretty strong and much stronger than the previous one offered there

well looks like people have cited past auctions which now looks like a set bid does have a realistic chance..

still i assume you arent starting from scratch in your research...i think we all have wasted more time in the hobby versus whatever limited time you need to complete the research....heck i watched youtube for an hour today about baseball cards which will get me ZERO dollars....lots of ways to use time and make nothing...putting together a bid doesnt seem like a waste of time even if dont win..

Amen to that. I guess the research is a large part of the fun

Default T206 Set Mile High Auction

$113,000 seems very strong for the latest Memory Lane set. I know there was an American Beauty Cobb Bat Off Authentic included but the Green Cobb and Red Cobb were both 2's and the Bat On was 3.5. There were some better cards included but 25 were also missing and it was the 17th ranked set.

Default Mile High

Interested in seeing how this pans out as well. I’m bidding on two cards from this auction for my collection. I plan to cross them over the SGC however if I do win.
