I personally believe Ty Cobb is the most interesting and unique player in the history of baseball.

6. One of the most misunderstood

And I agree,

This list lost me when they thought Babe Ruth wasn't famous enough that they needed a modern player, from another sport no less, to realize how famous he was. I've heard people from other sports compared to Babe Ruth, but not the other way around.

The list is filled with errors and modern players. It's lazy.

Agree on all, and I have never heard that the Babe was hated. The Yankees, yes, Babe, no.

And this list seems to have been created in 2012 or so, so it is not even current. Lastings Milledge...who in the fadoodle is that? I guess he didn't make a Lastings Impression.

I was never a fan of his (although I liked watching him play), but I'm not clear why there is so much hatred for Sammy Sosa. Why is he so hated but for the steroids issue (of which I don't think there is any evidence that he used PEDs other than the 2003 test which is not a definitive indictment? Did he do something else that pissed people off? I remember reading he was not welcome at Wrigley anymore so I must have missed something.

For me I am not a fan of the current Houston Astros, and this was before the cheating scandal. I usually like everybody. Just something about that team. btw I am a Red Sox fan.

Saying Manny was bad on defense it pretty odd, he led the league in outfield assists twice. And led the league in fielding percentage while playing left at Fenway which has made some good fielders look foolish.

And... No Bucky Dent? Or Mike Torrez (A Yankee saboteur) Or Don Zimmer? Ok, not as a player, but as a manager who wouldn't take pitcers out until they'd given up 6-7 runs..

For modern players I would go with Manny Machado. He pretty much ended Dustin Pedrioa's career with a dirty slide, I also remember him spiking Steve Pearce

I agree. I remember his dirty plays during the playoffs against the Brewers in 2018.

Disagree there. The Brewer first baseman didn't even have the fundamentals of the game down when he placed his entire foot on first base while awaiting the throw. The commentators had a big to-do about nothing when Manny unintentionally stepped on his heel while crossing first base. I say it was unintentional because Machado had two previous knee surgeries and wouldn't have risked injuring himself by stepping on the guy's heel like that. It's actually a higher risk to the batter running full-speed through the bag because stepping on something other than the base can send a batter sprawling.
