Here is (admittedly blurry. sorry) scan of my card on the left and image from VCP of a sold card on the right from what seems to be same era. The main difference I can spot is the spacing between 1981 and Topps. I don't know whether this was always consistent.
I looked through sales on VCP going back through 2010, and my card did not appear, so couldn't do direct comparison.

will. feel pretty confident that PWCC was just nervous and it's legit. seems like a fake card would not scan properly with the app.

PSA 9's have taken a bit of a hit. Plenty of past $600+ sales, but now typical sales hoovering a little above $500.
https://www.psacard.com/auctionprice...ues/273423#g=9 Maybe the trimming scandal has affected sales of PSA 10's, when PSA 9's can be more easily found at about 1/16th the price.
