To my way of thinking, that's as much of a "heads up" as a seller needs to give. It obviously was enough to stop you from buying the bottle, and myself also (after a bit more research), although even after said research I was still tempted due to the "conversation piece" aspect.

If this bottle can be had for $27.50 somewhere else, the buyer had plenty of warning to have attempted to find it. That's what google is for.

I agree. I would of been interested in this bottle as well but was a little late to the party. I think it’s a great item that you don’t see to often.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I feel that it's misleading to even suggest that there is a debate whether or not it is Ruth's father when it unequivocally is not.

I don't consider myself to be disagreeing with you.

The proof that the bottle in unequivocally not connected to Babe Ruth ends with the sentence that begins "Does it make an interesting story...? Yes"

That "yes" is worth $275 to the buyer, and pretty nearly to me, also.

The fact that the seller quotes a $5000 sale for the genuine item and then offers his for sale for $275 should put a reasonable person on notice that it’s not the real deal.
