They broke the mold when they made his arm. I'm going to the series tomorrow, Val, wish me--and the Nats--luck!

Hank, I'm jealous! But, I do wish you luck, and I wish the Nats more hitting skill on Sunday. As I see it, whichever team wins Game 5 wins the WS.

Hank, if the Astros win Game 5, I'll be ever so happy for my "As I see it, whichever team wins Game 5 wins the WS" prediction to be wrong (as usual)! But the reason I fear it won't be wrong is, I suspect the Game 7 pitchers will be Sanchez vs, Greinke, which doesn't give me much hope.

Sorry for the delay. Here are the backs of my Boston postcards. The Wood is at the bottom.

Default My conversation with Smoky Joe Wood's Grandson....show some Smoky Joe stuff

Excellent thread, especially the really interesting personal stories with members of Smoky Joe's family. Thanks for sharing them.

Here's a 1921 card of Smoky Joe (my only one). It's a mystery to me, Joe was not featured in some of the major sets of his era.
