The crazy thing about the COMC cards is the sheer volume they must have been trimming. There are 3 dollar, low interest cards that have been found trimmed. The conclusion has to be that they took a blade to their whole PSA submissions. It looks like a volume business - take a modern 5 dollar card, two minute trim, into a CS1 and off for bulk grading. Ten dollar investment including grading and shipping, sell card for 20-30 bucks. Multiply by thousands of cards and you have a low risk, high reward business. Turining ten dollar bills into twenty dollars bills is a good little business, with the odd big hit in between.
