The object was to list your estimate of the 10 BEST movies of all time. Not favorites.

CHANGE TO: 10 BEST or 10 FAVORITES or BOTH!

My Favorites: (no order)
12 angry men
My cousin Vinnie
The Graduate
Dr. Strangelove
Rear Window
Jaws
Rocky
Cool Hand Luke
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
The Bridge on the River Kwai

Seven Samurai? Foreign? What are your others?
Hateful Eight??
Waterfront - excellent - watched many times. Change is expected.
Yes, Godfather 2 over Godfather.
Witness - good - disliked the ending.

If there is a better scene ever than Marlene Dietrich on the witness stand saying Damn you! Damn you! Damn you! I'd like to see it. The ending may have been a little over the top, I don't disagree, but the whole thing was just so well done, Charles Laughton was brilliant and Dietrich, for all her reputation as just a sex symbol, could act with the greats of her era.

Seven Samurai of course is Japanese, from the great Akira Kurosowa who also directed the incomparable Toshiro Mifune in Rashomon.

Which 'Of Mice and Men'?

George:
1. Burgess Meredith
2. Robert Blake

People must have seen more than two good movies.

The 1992 version with Gary Sinise is the only one I have seen.

I mainly watch comedy, they are funny but far from all time great movies.

Here's a few that would be on my list. I'm not really sure what my top 10 would look like though.

The Sting
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Open Range

It goes without saying that IMHO "The Godfather" should be at the top of any list.

But what I find strange is that "Goodfellas" didn't make it into anyone's top 10 list.

.........And that I do not forgive.
