R315 trimmed?

I think they were issued in strips, most likely. In addition to the 3 card strips there are also a few 5 card horizontal ones around. To me they should all get a number as long as there is any border and they should all get the Hand Cut designation. That is until I see further proof they weren't issued in strips.

I see where they are often found in three-card strips, but can it be said with high probability that this was the way they made it to the end consumer, and this was the only way? Seems to me that much more often than not these are found with straight and not wavy edges. One might guess that if the only way these were obtained was in strips then they would be mostly hand-cut if not butchered by collectors ala the strip cards of the early 1920s.
