If Sandy Koufax was on-deck.

Of course, Sandy's 83 years old.

At this point I'd walk him from now on. Nobody wants to be the guy who gave up a hit to Chris Davis.

Has Bobby Bonilla finally dropped off the Mets' payroll?

Nope, not until 2035, but at $1.19 Million a year, he's a bargain compared to what some guys get paid nowadays to "not play".

Davis has 3 years left at 17.5 million and will get paid the deferred portion of the contract paid through 2037.

That's exactly what instantly came to mind when I read this thread.

The Red Sox are still paying Pedro Sandoval, but even that seems like a better deal than the O's are looking at

For the record, I went to a game at Shea Stadium in 1966 where the Dodgers beat the Mets 16-3. Sandy Koufax got the win, but amazingly he hit a single and a double- in the same inning!! You can look that one up.

I just looked it up, and on June 5, 1966, Sandy Koufax hit a single and a double in the 7th inning. That's more than Chris Davis can do in a month.

You're just plain mean. Now Davis will not get that intentional walk to boost his OBP, or should it be considered his intentional OBP (IOBP)?
