REA Lot 1039 AB packs

I bid strong on three lots in REA and as a new collector and first time bidder I was surprised how almost everything I was interested in sold for “retail+.”

Rather than start a new thread and encourage a hundred more of the same ilk, I'm just going to jump in here. In case the winner of lot 196 (1908 American League Publishing Company Postcard SGC-Graded Pair) sees this, I'm interested in the Stovall.

in different places. REA comes up with the goods and collectors are there willing to pay (over pay?) for them. Some of the items are just rarer or nicer than what you usually see for sale - some items are just zealously bid on by people in the heat of the moment. There was 1 lot I bid WAY over "retail" because of the richness of color in the card - and lost! This is in part the argument to sell at auction. Better luck next time.
