“It is a leisurely game that demands blinding speed. A pastoral game, born in crowded cities. The only game where the defense has the ball...It follows the seasons, beginning each year with the fond expectancy of springtime and ending with the hard facts of autumn..."

Picked up my fourth t206 with this unique writing on the back. The original owner would write the year and the position with what looks like fountain pen.
Shout out to Pat R., who's found two of these for me. Let me know if you have any like this (and are interested in selling/trading).

Very nice Cobb, Jeff... And Glenn, great card -- you should show the back...and good luck on the unique writing endeavour, Tony.

A very big thank you to Matt for this one!

Yes, thanks -- it's one of seven cards in the set where they reused artwork from other players. (Seven assuming that Bressler exists and is reused artwork like I've guessed in my MB thread.)

The back, as requested.

Collecting the Louisiana type cards isn't cheap, but a card in this condition helps a lot.

-Baseball, Ken Burns.

...in it's entirety, still gives me goose bumps:

“It is played everywhere. In parks and playgrounds and prison yards. In back alleys and farmers' fields. By small children and old men. Raw amateurs and millionaire professionals. It is a leisurely game that demands blinding speed. The only game in which the defense has the ball. It follows the seasons, beginning each year with the fond expectancy of springtime, and ending with the hard facts of autumn. It is a haunted game, in which every player is measured against the ghosts of all who have gone before. Most of all, it is about time and timelessness. Speed and grace. Failure and loss. Imperishable hope. And coming home.” - John Chancellor, Narrator in Ken Burns’ ‘Baseball’

Rather random purchase but thought it looked so good for the grade and plus the 15% off from Ebay, couldn't pass it up.
