They're at it again. Last two packages, instead of going from Kearny to New Brunswick, have made detours to Montclair and Mendham respectively, with that 'missent' designation in the tracking. I don't normally bash the USPS, but c'mon

I feel your pain, but this package has never been to Kearny and this the Kearny thread. This post should be in the Los Angeles black hole thread.

Something on the package, address, zip code, bar code or whatever is being scanned in LA as a package destined to GA. When scanned in GA, a different result occurs and the package is returned to LA. This is all the result of machine scanning and sorting. It is my understanding that a human being has to intervene to interrupt this game of sorting machine ping pong. Finding such an individual in the Los Angeles Distribution center is the problem for which I have no answer.

My favorite was a certified letter I sent from Boston to LA. It took two months to get there. It literally disappeared for 6 weeks, then suddenly reemerged in LA. From there, it pinged back and forth multiple times between LA and West Sacramento. It then got delivered to the wrong address -- not even close -- but somehow the post office was able to tell me where it was and I actually called that business and had the misrecipient hold it until the real recipient could go pick it up.

PS it's an exercise in futility to try to call a physical post office in downtown LA.
