Recently picked up this 1939 World Series ticket...After further reading on the game, I realized this was the last game Lou Gehrig spent in a Yankee uniform. He dressed, but didn't play this game due to his condition.

Planning to frame it soon with a photo from the game...

That's sweet! I am putting together an archive of the late 1930s Reds. I picked up the 1939 Reds edition World Series Program. Will get the tickets one of these days.

Default Koufax 1st career win complete ticket

Happy to add this unique complete ticket to my Koufax collection. Certain Brooklyn Dodger games from 1954-56 were designated as Elsie games, where youngsters 16 and under could send in 5 Elsie brand ice cream lids, bags or wrappers, plus 25 cents, and receive a grandstand admission ticket to Ebbets Field.

While the 2 parts of the ticket have separated, having both the admission and rain check sides is very unusual. And of course, the topper is that this was a ticket for Sandy Koufax's first win, a complete game shut-out in which he struck out 14.

Thanks Scott. I debated posting this under the April acquisitions thread, but thought it belonged on the thread of us ticket collectors.
