The Young card was not nice enough to warrant the price. The last one was. I am so glad I picked mine up at the national this year.

The green cobb is still a buy in my opinion. I think it is setting precidence for the other big time HOF portraits. It seems demand is through the roof. You can’t give money away in this country right now. It is so hard to find workers let alone quality workers.

What? Maybe I did not connect the dots there properly.

Everyone is busy and jacking up the prices to get work done. Sometimes by double and triple what it cost last year.

There are a lot of people right now making a lot of extra disposible income. I am not sure where you live but when I call 30 electricians and when I get 1 phone call back for an estimate on a multi thousand dollar job and it is priced at 300 an hour, that tells me something.

I can not get a paver to call me back, a tree guy, a plumber and the list goes on. Like I said, I can not give my money away.

First time using Gavelsnipe. I went 0-4 but really didn't come very close to getting any of the bids. Looks like I need to sharpen my pencil a bit.

I'll take some money if you're handing it out. I'll need it to afford one of those portraits

I always watch the Gehrig stuff—-maybe not as close as another board member— and I was surprised the 1933 Goudey went so high. Big spread between it and the 1934 Goudey listed on ebay. I had no idea it would trade so high.

Are you referring to the SGC 8?

I also noticed the 34 5 went for more than the 6. A nice example of "buying the card."

Yes, that one. It seems that card only comes in 8+ or 4-.....not too much in between. The 1934 I see on ebay has been up forever at $25k or best offer.

Good point, Sam, and also the 33 Goudey #53 Ruth PSA 4 sold for $9635 while the 5 hammered down at $11,211, a slightly weak price for a 5 and a super strong price for the 4 narrowed the gap.

The 5 Gehrig had great eye appeal while the 6 was ugly.

In my area the demand for plumbers and electricians seems to outstrip the supply, it's very difficult to find one who will come any time soon or charge a reasonable fee.
