Owing largely to nostalgia, this is probably my most favorite card of all time, so I wanted to get a really nice one...but I didn't want to pay $300+ for a straight 9, since it is such a widely available card. I negotiated with a seller and got it for $55, plus I was able to use the 15% off ebay coupon on top of that. The centering doesn't bother me much at all, as it looks entirely natural and doesn't even come close to bothering my eyes. Other PSA 9OC's (with relatively decent centering) usually sell for $100 (one that is almost kissing the bottom border is actually listed for $325 on ebay...and it's NOT Dean's!!), so I am very happy to add this guy...

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Overpaying yesterday is simply underpaying tomorrow.

Doesn't look remotely OC to me. If it wasn't in that slab, I wouldn't even think about that aspect of the card. Good value.

It seems like the only things I buy anymore are cards with qualifiers that don't look very troubling. I have a feeling that one day soon the huge price differential between straight cards and many with Q's (like the Mays or others) is going to evaporate as the ones with qualifiers steadily go up in price. How long until the market 'corrects' itself as more and more people think, "Qualifier be damned, that card looks pretty frickin' good, especially for only 1/4 of the price!!"

I don't normally post items in pick-up threads but I am really pleased with this one:

The card looks great in hand. I don't see anything to justify the low grade. Not that I care because the card isn't going anywhere any time soon.

That card is sweet.

It's a pretty good looking 3, imo.

I definitely cant see any flaws that would knock it down to VGEX. Looks like 5-6 range to me. Any slight creases?

Nice pickup. Looks like a 6 around the corners...

'71 OPC backs are just the absolute best.
