I know, right? I posted the other day in the main thread that I was astonished how little effort goes into actually authenticating or documenting what goes through their hands. The information they have not kept alone would be worth millions.

I think (am not positive) JSA will take pictures of potential high dollar items that do not pass authentication. I wonder if they have a large data base of these rejections.

I know Mike Root takes pictures of inauthentic autographs that he doesn't have on file.

The fact that he was planning to attempt to forge a Jack Warhop is crazy, he is a rare signature and from what I am aware, only signed a a handful of items through the mail after his career was over.

To me the "crazy" ones are Ganzel, Sullivan, Conroy, Tannehill, Rhoades, and Murray. There is no evidence that any of these players ever signed a T206 card -- or any other pre-war card for that matter.

I have seen two signed T206 Warhops. One of them from Jeff Morey's collection:

Which was sold in Lot 97 of Mike Gutierrez's May 18, 2001 auction:

And one of them was sold among a group of 8 in Hunt's Live Louisville Slugger Auction in November 2007 (Lot No. 630):

That's where I got mine from:

MANY of the autographed T206's in the black and white photo look suspect... Yes? No?

It's very hard to tell from these images. So few of the color images of the cards represented in Morey's 2001 photo copies, which were scanned and sent to me in 2007, have surfaced since they were sold in 2001 and 2002. Here are a few side-by-sides of a few that did:
