Al Barker played in one major league game in 1871. Scott Hastings had a longer career from 1871-1877. Both were Civil War veterans and appear on this 1870 Rockford Forest City's cdv.

Anything with Nicholas Young ?

Abner fired the first shot at Gettysburg but he had nothing to do with baseball.

Doubleday Field is in Cooperstown. Maybe not an official baseball presence but certainly a historical one.

I believe Dave Birdsall is another Civil War veteran. He is bottom left in this photograph.
