Here is a full size W601 that shows the same as the image. If you look close the image of Mack is also different.

Learn something every day. First W601 of a major leauge team in street cloths I have ever seen thank you for sharing. Do you know if there is a version with players in uniforms?

Jonathan, not of that year I don't believe. So...I started looking on the internet, of course there are a lot of images, but the only one in suits I could find in a quick search was a 1903/04 Fort Wayne. The other 1902's I found were in uniform.

Scott: As I said always nice to learn something new and the 1902 A's seem to be the one Major Leauge team in street clothes. I have always liked the issue and have owned a handful over the years. This is the first one I bought. I found it at the Philadelphia show at Spring Garden College in 1975.
One of the reasons I was interested in them was that they and the W600's fill a gap as there are very few card sets issued between 1900 and the T cards on the 1910's. Another reason is do many of them have Multiple Hall if Fame members.

Default W601's with players in Suits

From memory, the 1902 Pirates are also in suits, which makes sense as they were the NL champs the same way the Athletics were the AL champs. In those days when you won, you were the champions for the following season. Hence, if you won in 1902, you were the Champions for 1903 as shown on the Athletics w601 shown above.

Some minor league teams are also shown in suits, such as Butte.

Default 1909 Boston Doves

Poor Kirby White and Tom? Tuckey, Sporting Life couldn't even get a photo of them.

Odd, that they didn't have Kirby White's Horner image... as there was one taken.
