Dean Bros. Beech-nut Sign
Did anyone out there happen to pick this up from the recently SCP auction or does anyone have one by chance?

i remember seeing one of those on American pickers, and in that episode they went to Busch stadium and a mint example was in the office of I think the owner. Very cool piece.

Considering what the SCP sign brought....
$900.00 seems like a steal for the example the pickers found. |

PIckers
The one the pickers found was in horrible condition with mildew and water damage and I thought they did well to get $900 for it actually.

American Pickers
I believe that this was taken while in the office of the GM Brian DeWitt. His was in spectacular condition (of course) but I was not sure if it was retired or not. Brian, I believe was/is a long time collector. I am unsure of how active he is any longer. He of course only collected Cardinals memorabilia. It was the only show I remember that had baseball memorabilia in it. I of course could be wrong.
I have been looking for to purchase on eBay for years. Last edited by bobfreedman; 09-03-2018 at 04:22 AM. |

I remember that episode...I'm a huge American Pickers fan, such great shows.
They recently had a 68 World Series Cardinals sign & flag banner piece. |

In my mind, their “appraiser” way undervalued that piece. If I was a Cardinals collector, I would pay double what he said it was worth.

hmmmm
Political Gallery - Tom Slater. Believe I saw him mentioned in some capacity at an auction house (Heritage?). His early auctions were interesting...….

Political Gallery, Slater's Americana... pre internet.. they were the best! He had the most oddball items to pick-up. I believe I still have all the catalogs.
