After Jean-Michel Basquiat died in 1988, I remember thinking this guy is going to be a super important painter and I should buy some of his work.

Been collecting since 69/74/77 depending on when you'd count from.
Sooo many regrets, mostly about not buying things. When I started 52 Mantles hadn't gone over 1000 yet. T206 Hof ers who weren't Cobb were usually $10 in VG, or even a bit better. Topps Orr rookie was 100... 100!! that was insane for a hockey card at the time. Goudey Ruths were around 100. Aaron rookie 60... I'm going to go be sad and play some games on my phone now.... |
