DiMaggio 1937. 46 HR 37 K. That's absurd. I'm assuming Barry's answer is right and the quiz is over.

After I posted I looked it up and found I was correct. Somehow I remembered about Mize and his miserly strikeout totals.

I remember something Barry Bonds hit a lot of HRs and not striking out. But I also remember Willie Mays saying he never hit 50.

I’ll go with Ted Kluszewski that’s a very hard name to spell.

Dinger Whiff enthusiasts might be interested to learn that Mize nearly qualifies for the Dinger Whiff HOF. His career total was +912.

I must confess that I didn’t check Mize when creating the DW HOF.

Your authoritativeness in matters of dingers and whiffs just took a big hit. You can do penance by finding me his 41 team issue in NM or better, I have struck out in my search so far.

Other little known fact. Tony Gwynn only struck out three times in a game once in his career.

I remember that piece of trivia. Bob Welch, I believe, was the pitcher. Gwynn also averaged about 20 whiffs per season. Insane.
