The 25-card set was issued in November 1936 (eight months before Earhart disappeared). By April 1937, five of the 25 cards in the set had been pulled from production and replaced with different aviators (there is much speculation as to why). As a result, the Earhart and Howard Hughes cards are by far the most valuable cards in the set.

I was shocked to see a Heinz Earhart card show up on eBay at a reasonable BIN. Only one of the nine Earhart Heinz cards that PSA has graded is below a "4." I am pleased that this card is so presentable for a "1," since a PSA 5 Howard Hughes card went for over $2,000 at REA last year.

Very, very cool cards. I'm all for a card with excellent historic value.

I will say you might want to get insurance for those cards, though. You never know - they might just disappear.
