Default Reminder

No right or wrong here. Not even anything to debate. Just another angle on sharing personal preference of card collecting - can be, but doesn't have to be cards you own. Overlap, no overlap -doesn't matter -what are/ would be your picks?

These, for me, were ones that I thought, artistically, just....wow! Not necessarily the best player or the most expensive card, just cards that have really caught my eye over the years. (I shall own that e95 Cobb someday!)

Starter: Walter Johnson t206 portrait
Catcher: 1953 Bowman color Roy Campanella
First Base: 1888 Goodwin Dan Brouthers
Second Base: 1933 Goudey Charlie Gehringer
Shortstop: t206 Wagner
Third Base: 1935 Diamond Stars Stan Hack
Right Field: 1972 Topps Roberto Clemente
Center Field: E95 Ty Cobb
Left Field: 1974 Topps Pete Rose

Runner up is '34 Goudey Greenberg

This is a fun idea. I'm going to go with cards that are actually in my collection. (Otherwise we're going to get a lot of 34 Gehrigs at 1B.)

P - 1953 Topps Satchel Page
C - 1935 Diamond Star Mickey Cochrane
1B - 1975/76 Calbee Sadaharu Oh
2B - T206 Nap Lajoie
3B - JCM 54 Shigeo Nagashima
SS - 1933 DeLong Rabbit Maranville
LF - 1985 Topps Rickey Henderson
CF - Salutations Exhibit Joe DiMaggio
RF - T206 Fred Clarke

--Bench--
P - 1888 Allen & Ginter John Clarkson
1B - 1934 Goudey Jimmie Foxx
1B - 1952 Topps Johnny Mize

That's a good team but no Sam Crawford or Harry Heilmann?

Bobby Veach was in the conversation too. Toyed with putting Heilmann in RF, but I think Kaline was the better all-around player. Crawford and Heilmann probabaly both had better overall careers than Horton though, but they played right while Horty played left. And I was sticking to position, but if I just picked 3 OFs without regard, it'd be Cobb, Kaline, Heilmann.
