I guess I'm old school, but I don't have the internet on my phone either. It's an old, faithful flip-top, which has been with me for 12-15 years and still works perfectly. I have internet on my phone, but if you're expecting instant communication via internet you're out of luck. Typing anything on the phone is simply awful. I generally won't do it.
And you can try prying my kids off the main computer....

How is it people collect reminders of a slower simpler time but expect every individual to be Amazon?

Same here old flip-top and no internet. Out of curiosity I just checked
and I had eight total calls for the month of February and I've never
sent a text message so I guess I'm old school too.
