I check estate auction listings and many times they list "mantle clock" but it's not a Mickey Mantle Clock !!! I keep trying. Best item lately has been a roll of postal stamps ( about 50 +) for $ 1. The owner must have thought they weren't good any longer .

I had a similar find at a paper show, Mike. A book of stamps with a face value in excess of the price asked for the book.

I like Peter Max art and a month or two ago I picked up one of these posters for $3:

Stole the image from eBay to show what it looks like. It is a 1970 11 x 16 Peter Max piece for the American Cancer Society's no-smoking campaign. It had great graphics and color and was in great shape. I also found a portfolio of lithos from the 1940s showing Los Angeles sights for a buck that my daughter used to decorate her apartment in college. Probably two best cards I ever picked were a W538 Jennings

and a 1948 Kellogg's Pep Mikan RC that ended up a PSA 6.

I also found a sportswriter's archive from the late 1960s-early 1970s that had dozens of great pictures and team issued photos, and even a Minnesota Pipers (ABA) team issue card set that included a pre-rookie card of HOFer Connie Hawkins.
