Default Love that photo of Brett!

If you would send me a hi-res scan of that Brett photo, I would be very grateful. So grateful, in fact, that I will design a 1975 Hostess "What If" card for your set. Thanks!

Thanks for all the input and nice comments. David, that's a great article, very interesting read. Keith, I'll send you a scan this evening. That would be very cool. When I first saw this strip, I thought it was interesting, but it took me awhile to put the pieces together. This is what makes collecting so challenging and rewarding.

There was a thread awhile back about Topps providing the photos for Hostess' cards: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...=224628&page=2

Wondering if maybe there was an exclusivity or licensing issue with young George? Terrific item either way.

I would have to go digging to get a better photo, but picked up a few of those years back on the bay.

Curt,
I love your Garvey collection! I would kill for an opportunity to dig through your binders, 70's and 80's player collection at it's very finest!

Why would someone print over a proof? That's seems very weird.

Thank you sir. It would be fun to have someone look through it besides me that would enjoy and appreciate it. I am the same way when I see other player collectors show off stuff. I love to see large groupings put together by passionate collectors.

I found these images on an auction site. The auction description mentions there's about a dozen players on the sheets who never appeared in the set ...
