Steve - I have always thought the Meyers is a great card, congrats!
Ryan - Holy. Crap. I love all of the Cobbs. Kenny - The Wheat run is great. I admit to chuckling that the last domino to fall was a Sweet Cap

If anybody happens to remember where this card came from, I'd love to see a copy of the original auction catalog. The previous owner had it for over 15 years but couldn't find the invoice that confirmed where he bought it. Cheers, Steve |

1928 NL designated hitter letter
Picked up this letter signed by former NL President John Heydler. In it he talks about the NL proposing the DH.
“At one of our final League meetings held at the old Waldorf — it must’ve been 8 to 10 years ago — the League passed unanimously a recommendation to the Rules Committee, allowing a pinch hitter for the pitcher.” The story behind the NL's ill-fated proposal can be found by clicking here.
