My first year of collecting was 1961, and I thought Fleer did a terrific job on their NFL / AFL '61s, and the purely AFL '62-'63s.
The '63s must have come late to the Skokie, Illinois Oakton Drug Store, where I bought cards. My Dad bought a full box of them for me and put them in my Christmas stocking in 1964, one after they were supposed to have been issued. I remember it vividly because that was the first Christmas in our new home, where we'd moved to in April of that year. I have a real soft spot in my heart for those old Fleer football cards. ---Brian Powell

I love the 60 Fleers! I thought they were great. They were certainly as nice as the Topps cards from 58 and 59. I know the 63's are the most popular, but I think the 62's are absolutely gorgeous.
