We just sold the complete 1960 set in an uncut sheet at auction in November.

Always thot they were pretty ugly, for a first issue. Seemed like they copied the bland '58T BB set with the solid color background. For my $$, it took Fleer 4 years to get it right, that being their '63 AFL set. Alworth's RC is key and in higher grades is a beast to acquire.

My first year of collecting was 1961, and I thought Fleer did a terrific job on their NFL / AFL '61s, and the purely AFL '62-'63s.
The '63s must have come late to the Skokie, Illinois Oakton Drug Store, where I bought cards. My Dad bought a full box of them for me and put them in my Christmas stocking in 1964, one after they were supposed to have been issued. I remember it vividly because that was the first Christmas in our new home, where we'd moved to in April of that year. I have a real soft spot in my heart for those old Fleer football cards. ---Brian Powell |

I love the 60 Fleers! I thought they were great. They were certainly as nice as the Topps cards from 58 and 59. I know the 63's are the most popular, but I think the 62's are absolutely gorgeous.

They are beautiful cards.......have a small set started. Very very nice layout in my opinion.

I love the 60s Fleers, with 1963 being my favorite. I've been working on autographed sets for years now. I am complete with 1961 (AFL series only) and 1963. I still need a handful for 1960 and 1962. Great, great cards.

The Fleer sets are among the finest sets in the hobby IMHO. 1962 and 1963 are my personal favorites, but it is hard to go wrong with any of them. Someday I am going to get around to putting together those two sets and probably 1961 as well.
