Assume you've at least seen some of the ones pictured on google.com/images out there. I remember, years ago, that Terry Knouse had a near complete display of them that might have been missing 1-2 cards. I think it was like 5x5 cards or 6x6 or some combination of that. I searched my records and can't find a photo of the whole thing unfortunately. I also remember that there is more than one advertising piece as the graphics were different. Good luck in acquiring them. I had a few back in the day when I had 50-60 N284's...............only a couple now with no advertising ones.........

Default Question

How do I know if my card is an ad cutout? I have an n284 with a blank back that I have suspected was cut from something else. Bought it on tetrtrade 20 years ago and have no idea what exactly it is.

They would have black printing on the front. Buchner took sheets and printed black lettering on the front as advertising. I'm assuming they were subsequently cut up by enterprising kids or adults and that's how we have the cards pictured now.........

Yes! I just saw this thread Brian and the first thing that came to my mind was that Tik had a bunch in a larger plastic display like Tom mentioned at their table at the last natty.

Good luck!

Here's the completed poster. Tom, you are correct. There have to at least be two designs. I have a couple cards that are missing from this one I have pictured altogether.

Looks like it's a 6x7 so 42 cards total. I suppose this gives me an excuse to work on a 19th century project which I don't think has ever happened before for me.

Thanks for the insight everyone!
