Up for your consideration is quite possibly one of the most unique and eclectic score books we have ever had the pleasure of offering.
This 11 x 8 inch Spalding No. 4 scorebook is Jam Packed with 33 professionally and meticulously scored games from the 1936 Major League Baseball and Independent League Baseball seasons. Scored in the hand of scorekeeper Dick Craig, he allows you to relive these games over 80 years later... one play at a time. Due to the fact that all these teams and games are East Coast, we believe that Dick Craig worked for a East Coast News company as either a sports reporter or writer. (Please not that this book was discovered alongside 7 other books, all scored in Craig's hand). The highlights of this scorebook would are the 1936 All-Star Game and 4 Lou Gehrig Home Run Games. (5 Home Runs in total) There are 7 games from both Joe DiMaggio's rookie season and Lou Gehrigs MVP season included, as well as 2 Carl Hubbell MVP season games. There are Hall of Famers such as Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin and so many others scattered throughout this book. A truly ridiculous offering of baseball games that you simply can not find together like this. Included are the following games.... May 6th 1936 Newark Bears vs. Buffalo Bisons (Independent League) The Bears win 9-3 behind Ralph Boyle’s Home Run.
