My perfect bidding record with REA remains intact.

I'm 0 for 11 years and counting.

Was chasing 2 t206 Johnson portraits, the PSA 6 sovereign and the PSA 1 EPDG. I was the underbidder on the Sovereign that went for $7800 with the juice, it was just too much considering the same card sold for $4500 on ebay 2 months ago (though I still think Wajo in general is undervalued, this was a high grade specimen with a difficult back). Snagged the EDPG paying too much at $1500 with the juice for a card with a pinhole in it but I needed it for my EPDG back run.

Won 2 lots of items I really didn't want, but seemed like good prices.

1980 Pepsi Winfield unissued proof
1952 Bob swift psa 8

Also overdid it on the signed bowman collection of 60, but there were a handful of vintage pen umpires that have become so tough in recent years, I stuck with it.

It was nice to see some love on the T3 Joss. I've always loved that image, and even with the no offer back, 15k was a shocker.

I know not in you guys wheel house but finally picked up a nice Koufax Rookie (SGC 84) which fills a huge hole for me. Probably paid ALL the money on it - but stoked anyway....

The Goodwin Kelly in PSA-5 got away (it was just an upgrade anyway), but I snagged the Ron Lewis autographed set.

Lonnie - You got a beauty! Congrats!

Great auction! I won the lot I had the most interest in and finished a little short on a few others. My first E222 will have to wait a bit longer

I am now the proud owner of a T215 Pirate back, Frank Chance front. Very psyched to have such a rare piece.

Was fighting hard for the E107 Plank, but it got higher than I wanted -- closing at almost $17k with juice. I also though I had a chance at the T206 Plank 1.5, but was outbid (by someone willing to pay $45k w/juice) with a week left and that bid held, making, yet again, the underbidder on a Plank -- always a bridesmaid.

I was glad to see the brown old mill top $20k -- awesome card someone got there. Amd I think the 33 Lajoie brought a great price for a great card. Man was I happy to see the 48 Leaf Paige PSA 3 go for $24k; luckily I pulled my PSA 4 from BST a week ago, considering I was asking a mere $23k

Pete, congrats on the Ruth? Which one? I picked up a 3.5 from a board member last month and i love it.

Regarding the Wajo Sovereign -- great looking card but man did someone pay the piper to get that sucker.

Great auction. Tons of major cards.

I won 3 lots. The t206 2.5 green Cobb , the 33 goudey Babe Ruth (low grade) and the 34 goudey PSA 1 Gehrig. Very pleased on the prices

I was shut out again. I missed on all my main targets and passed on a secondary one to wait for future auctions. The REA premium is amazing. I am glad I bought my t206 Plank when I did. I paid slightly more than the one last night, but it is much nicer. I couldn't believe a 1.5 brought 45k.

Managed to snag the E92 Davis Croft Candy-Blue to go with brother Red, a card that you, Leon, might remember. Tried to go for the Nadja and Dockman Davis' cards, which were part of a group, but lost out at the midnight hour.
A question for E92 aficionados: Does Davis come with a Crofts Cocoa reverse?

Shut out. Not even one of the 7 bids I thought I put a good number on held up. At least I now have money to spend on Battlefield's stuff!

Cheers,

Joe,

Your catalog was shipped to Michigan, which is the address we've had on file for years. It appears now that there is a Florida address on your account, which was updated after the mailing list was generated and after the catalogs mailed. We'd have no way to know this without being made aware. So, I'm confident that your catalog is in Michigan, but if you want one sent to Florida, no problem, just let us know and we'll get one out today. We printed hundreds of extras.

Robert,

Your catalog was delivered to Raleigh on October 17. Tracking is below so that you can have it. I would speak to someone at your post office since you're not receiving mail or they are arbitrarily discarding it. If you want another one sent out for your records, let me know.

To Everyone:

We have a lot of great talents on our team here. We work really hard and we put on great auctions. But unfortunately, no one at REA is psychic. It'd make a lot of things a lot easier. If you are expecting something from us and you don't get it, you have to let us know. Call or e-mail us--we are very accessible and we love sending out FREE catalogs.

We put more than 10,000 catalogs and postcard mailers in the mail this auction. We received fewer than ten calls or e-mails from bidders saying they didn't get anything from us, and in almost every case it was because we had outdated mailing information. We sent out several e-mails in advance of the auction imploring bidders to update their mailing addresses to ensure timely delivery, but again we're not psychic. We send catalogs with tracking so we can easily see where they are if needed. Our assumption is that they were all delivered. If they weren't we imagine we'd hear about it a lot more often.

I thank everyone for their participation and interest in the auction. It was a phenomenal event. Board members got some great pieces, and we were fortunate enough to have some contribute some outstanding items on the consignment side too. We're already looking forward to spring!

Thank you,

Brian
