I added this Roberto Clemente memorial pennant to my collection last night. I thought it was rather poignant. Although it has condition issues I have never encountered another example. Has anyone else come across one of these? A big shout out to Mr. Weingarten for once again helping me add another unusual item to my 1971 Bucs collection.

That’s an awesome piece, Mike! With something that rare, I don’t even worry about “condition issues.”

Thanks Rob, It was a big one for me. I can't recall when I extended myself that far before but I am glad that I did.

Default Houston Colts

My World Series reward. It was a lot of work to see the series through. I deserved something.

This is the picture on the pennant between UNC and Rice for the 1950 Cotton Bowl. Has anyone seen anything like this?

I've never seen them like that on a CoA pennant before, but its common to see two schools featured on the old decals which tend to share the same graphics that CoA used on the single school pennants. I'd love to find a rose bowl one like this!

It's pretty rare....

Speaking of rare pennants with both teams' logos depicted, here are a couple from 1914 and 1915, respectively.

The Overland Car Company sponsored an "Employees Day" those two years. They actually brought Major League Baseball Teams to Swayne Field in Toledo, to play an Exhibition Game in recognition of their factory workers. Prior to the game, the Players accompanied the Auto Employees in a "celebratory march" from the Overland Factory to Swayne Field.

Imagine a company today bringing in top stars the likes of Cobb, Crawford, Matty, Bresnahan, Bender, Collins, Baker, Tinker, Evers, Chance, etc. to accompany the employees. Those were different time, to say the least...

These pennants were given to the fans, to wave during the parade and at the game. I was extremely lucky to find one of each, and have never seen another example surface. If anybody has one, I'd love to see it here!
